Matt Hartnett, Marketing Manager Heart of the Lakes and new Trustee of Lake District Foundation

Conservation charity Lake District Foundation has elected Matt Hartnett, Marketing Manager from Heart of the Lakes cottage company to join its board of Trustees.

A member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM) Hartnett brings a wealth of marketing experience developed across more than 15 years in the tourism sector. With insightful digital acumen and a love of the Lake District, Hartnett joins at an exciting time which sees the Lake District Foundation developing new digital products designed to increase the ease of making donations for both visitors and locals, enabling the work to protect and care for the Lake District National Park to continue and expand.

Matt Hartnett, Marketing Manager says, ‘I’m excited to join Lake District Foundation board of Trustees from both a personal and professional perspective. Heart of the Lakes was one of the first companies to run an opt-out visitor give back scheme, with donations going to support essential ‘Fix the Fells’ conservation work since 1995. I enjoy climbing and fell walking and am looking forward to using my professional know-how to help protect this amazing landscape for future generations to enjoy.’

Sarah Swindley, CEO Lake District Foundation says, ‘Our board of Trustees play a vital role in helping us to achieve our aim of inspiring businesses, visitors and other donors to support projects and programmes of work across the Lake District. It’s fantastic to continue our long-standing relationship with Heart of the Lakes and I’m delighted to welcome Matt to the board.’
