Panto Season at the John Peel Theatre, Wigton

Blanketed in snow and coal dust, Dickensian Wigton is ready to celebrate the festive season with family and friends – time to eat drink and be merry.

All except one lone miser, who sold his soul long ago for a cold hard money. Now Lucy Fur has called in the debt and Scrooge must learn the true meaning of Christmas to save himself with (and despite) the help of his estranged family and employees.

Dickens himself is on hand to make sure this re-telling of Scrooge stays on track but with fun-loving ghosts, a mischievous dog and a gang of street urchins all threatening to hijack proceedings, this “Phantomime” might not be exactly what he had planned…

With sing-alongs, cheeky laughs, terrible puns and maybe even a tear or two, this year’s panto at the John Peel Theatre runs from 9th – 14th of December at 7 pm every night, with 2 pm Matinees on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th. Tickets are available from Easton’s Newsagent in Wigton and online via ticketsource.co.uk/wigtontheatre.
