A man will appear at court charged with wounding with intent in connection with a collision involving a pedestrian in Carlisle.
Daniel English, 30, of Stonegarth, Carlisle, has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at North Cumbria Magistrates’ Court today (15 January). He is charged with the following offences:
- Section 18 wounding with intent
- driver of a vehicle which failed to stop
- dangerous driving
The charges are in connection with a collision that occurred on Monday afternoon (13 January) on the city’s Ullswater Road.
Claire Porter, 32, of Greta Avenue, Carlisle, was charged with assisting an offender. She is scheduled to appear at North Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 4 February.
The pedestrian, a 46-year-old Carlisle man, involved in the collision remains in a critical but stable condition at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
