A “Swimathon for Bex” was held at Penrith Leisure Centre on Saturday evening 7th March. Over 100 swimmers in relay teams donated a fee to join the attempt of collectively swimming 85kms.
In order to help fellow club member, Rebecca Hind, with her recovery from cancer, Eden Valley Tri Club and friends decided to raise funds for The Christie Charity where Rebecca received treatment.
The Charity fund the care of patients and vital research aimed at understanding cancer and developing pioneering treatment for this horrible disease.
The total distance swam was an incredible 130kms and to date in excess of £5k has been raised.
