Boost for Cumbrian care home residents

Residents at the Dales Care Home in Maryport, Cumbria can now keep in touch with loved ones from a distance, thanks to a kind donation from Northern Gas Networks.

Colleagues from the gas company, which provides the gas distribution service for the region, donated a bumper aid package, including electronic tablets, to allow residents to keep in touch with relatives.

The package also included face masks, gloves, alcohol hand sanitiser and digital thermometers.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, colleagues at Northern Gas Networks have been going the extra mile for local communities.

As well as donating to care homes and charities, emergency gas engineers from the company are leaving care packages for individual customers, following house calls. The packages contain non-perishable food items such as rice, pasta and tinned food, as well as hand sanitiser and puzzle books.

Steven Dacre, Northern Gas Networks’ customer experience development manager, said: “The nature of our business means we have a large, mobile workforce – so we are well-placed to offer support in local communities.

“We’ve already delivered hundreds of packages throughout the region, to care homes, charities and individual households, and will keep the support coming.”

Charities, care homes and not-for-profit organisations can arrange for an aid package delivery from Northern Gas Networks by emailing [email protected]
