Police have today (July 18) charged a man with the murder of a woman in West Cumbria.
Trevor Green, 44, of Cleator, is charged with the murder of Shelly Clark, 43, also of Cleator.
A man, 62, who was arrested during the enquiry has been released with no further action.
Green is due to appear before Workington’s magistrates’ court on Monday.
Police were called by the North West Ambulance Service at 7.35pm on July 15 to a report of concern for the welfare of a woman at a property in Cleator Moor.
Shelly Clark died in the West Cumberland Hospital on Thursday night.
The family of Shelly Clark, said: “Shelly was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunty, niece, cousin -and friend to many.
“She will be sorely missed.
“We have taken comfort from the messages we have received and would like to request privacy at this difficult time.”
