On Friday, Kendal’s Mayor Alvin Finch made a guest appearance on a TV Show!
The comedian Rosie Jones, currently filming a travelogue series around the UK, stopped off in the Lakes with her guest Scarlett Moffatt and visited Food Historian Professor Ivan Day to learn to cook some local delicacies.
Alvin was invited along to chat and to judge the results. Alvin also took the opportunity to give Rosie and Scarlett some local treats (Kendal Mint Cake and Pennington’s Kendal Mint Cake Liqueur) to remind them of their time in the town. “The food was great and the company excellent,” said Alvin afterwards, “and I think they liked the town.”
The programme will be shown in a high-profile slot on Friday nights at 8.30pm on
Channel 4, hopefully in the run-up to Christmas.
