Two children hurt in Carlisle collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a two-vehicle road traffic collision that occurred around 2:30pm on 27 September, on the Brisco crossroads on Newbiggin Road in Carlisle.

Involved in the collision was a Toyota Hybrid and a Ford Mondeo.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The driver of the Toyota was uninjured, however the passengers, a 6-year-old and an 11-year-old were taken to the Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle, they sustained minor injuries.

“The driver and passenger in the Ford were uninjured. The passenger of the Ford, a 49-year-old man from Carlisle was arrested on suspicion of permitting the use of a motor vehicle with no insurance and permitting the driving of a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence. He has been released under investigation.

“Officers would like to speak to any witnesses or anyone who may have dash cam footage of the incident.”
