Police are investigating an incident of assault that occurred on Lawson Street, Carlisle, in the early hours of 4 October.
Two men, in their thirties, suffered injuries which are not believed to be serious.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of two accounts of wounding with intent. He has since been released on police bail.
“Police would like to reassure members of the public that this appears to be an isolated incident.
“Officers are appealing for residents who witnessed the incident or have CCTV or dash cam footage in the area of Lawson Street, who have not already spoken to police, are encouraged to make contact.”
