A MAN has been acquitted, unanimously, of the alleged rape of a woman in Carlisle.
Aaron Christopher Benjamin Miller, 39, had denied three modern day charges, all of which had alleged that he had raped the woman.
Mr Miller had maintained his innocence since criminal proceedings were brought against him.
He went on trial in front of a jury at Carlisle Crown Court last week.
And, after hearing all evidence in the case, jurors unanimously found Mr Miller not guilty of all three charges after deliberating for less than two and a half hours.
As a result, Mr Miller, of Oakroyd Drive, Brighouse, West Yorkshire, was immediately discharged by the trial judge, Recorder Anna Vigars QC.
