Barrow teen arrested on suspicion of possession of an air weapon in a public place

Police are investigating an incident of public order that occurred at around 9:30pm on 24th November.

It is reported that something was fired from a dark coloured hatchback car at a white Ford Transit van.

The incident is reported to have started in Great Urswick and then progressed on to Leece Lane, Barrow.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “An 18-year-old man from Barrow was arrested on suspicion of possession of an air weapon in a public place. He has since been released on police bail.”

Police are appealing for witnesses, or CCTV or dashcam footage in those areas to contact police on 101 referring to 170 of the 24th November 2020. Alternatively, you can call Crime stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
