Ten people who travelled to Cumbria for a New Year’s Eve party have been fined a total of £2,000.
The group of friends, from the Merseyside area, rented accommodation just outside Ulverston for the night when they were caught by Cumbria police.
Officers attended the address and found the people had been drinking.
They were all told to stay at the accommodation until New Year’s Day and then leave as soon as possible.
Cumbria police issued each member of the group with a £200 fixed penalty notice for breaching Tier 4 coronavirus restrictions.
