Police are asking anyone who may have bought a TV from a van in a Carlisle car park to come forward.
Officers are investigating an incident that occurred in the Tesco car park on Warwick Road on Saturday and need people to come forward who may have bought a TV on that day, or in the days leading up to Saturday.
Anybody approached by a man trying to sell them televisions in this area is also asked to come forward.
Officers are investigating alleged fraud by false representation.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the inquiry and bailed.
