
A 19-year-old Maryport man has been arrested following a number of vehicle fires and incidents in the area.
Police are investigating the incidents, which occurred between 2.20am and 7.05am today, as potentially linked
Incidents reported include:
- At 2.20am police received a report of an attempted burglary at Long and Small Garage and Car Wash in Flimby. Damage was caused to the property.
- At 5.17am police received a report of two vehicles having been set on fire on Solway Trading Estate and three additional vehicles receiving fire damaged.
- At 6.02am police received a report of suspicious activity outside a property on Senhouse Street Maryport. There was no damage or injuries reported from this incident.
- Police received a report from Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service at 6.08am of a vehicle fire on Station Street, Maryport.
- At 7.03am, police received a report of theft from a vehicle on Curzon Street, Maryport.
The man was arrested at 12.10pm today and remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
