A new church is launching in Workington later this year.
Influence Church has announced it will launch services in the town in the spring.
The church, which has a site in Penrith and also operates in Richmond, Barnard Castle and Bishop Auckland, is a Pentecostal church, affiliated to the Assemblies of God network.
The Church launched its first Cumbrian church in Penrith in 2016 and moved into its own building in the town in September 2019.
It said it was looking for a suitable site in Workington for its base in the town.
Ben Dowding, senior pastor, said: ”We’re really excited about our launch as Influence Church in Workington.
“We believe that although our commitment to Christian beliefs, values and morals is traditional, our style of church doesn’t need to be!
“We’re looking forward to bringing our expression of church to this area. We believe it won’t just be a church for Workington but for people from right across the area.”
Although the church is not starting physical services until later this year, there are already online Sunday services, held on Facebook and YouTube, that are attracting viewers from across West Cumbria, it said.
