A man has admitted downloading scores of indecent images of children on two devices.
Martyn Fletcher, 45, was warned he must now sign the sex offenders’ register after committing two crimes between January 20 2017, and May 17 last year.
During a hearing at Carlisle Crown Court, Fletcher pleaded guilty to two offences of making indecent photographs of children.
Some 132 of these were located on an HP laptop, the court was told while a further 13 were discovered on a Samsung mobile phone.
All are classed in category C – the most serious being category A.
Recorder Philip Grundy adjourned the case and directed that a pre-sentence report should be provided by a probation officer.
Fletcher, of Bowness Court, Workington, was said to be a man of previous good character.
He was granted bail and is due to be sentenced at the crown court on 11th March.
“You must acknowledge that there is a risk of a custodial sentence,” the judge told Fletcher, although he heard that all sentencing options would remain open on that date.
