An emergency road closure has been put in place due to flooding caused by a blocked culvert.
The A593 from the Broughton Mills turn-off (Hawthwaite) to New Street (Broughton-in-Furness) was closed last night “due to the likelihood of danger” caused by the standing water.
The road was expected to be closed for three days from last night.
Cumbria Highways are advising motorists that they can use the A595, A5084 and A5092 as alternative routes.
