Emergency services rescued a person from the River Eden in Carlisle yesterday.
Three fire engines were called at about 3pm to Brampton Road after reports there was a person in the water.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service’s swift water rescue team rescued one casualty from the river and passed them to the care of paramedics.
Fire crews were in attendance for around 40 minutes.
