A Cumbrian MP has announced the winners of his ‘Takeaway Takeover’ competition.

Workington MP Mark Jenkinson asked residents to vote for the takeaways they prefer in their town.

Mark launched the competition to find the favourite local takeaways in his constituency.

He said: “Whilst the pandemic has proven challenging for many, I know it has also been an opportunity to bring families and communities closer together. Takeaways have been a great treat and have given us something to look forward to.”

The winners of Mark Jenkinson’s Takeaway Takeover:

  • Silloth favourite takeaway – Marios of Silloth
  • Workington favourite takeaway – Pedros
  • Maryport favourite takeaway – Atish
  • Aspatria favourite takeaway – Sams Pizza and Kebabs
  • Cockermouth favourite takeaway – Full House
  • Overall constituency winner – Marios of Silloth

An entry was drawn at random to receive a free takeaway. The winner was Andrew Rudd from Seaton.
