Police have confirmed that they are investigating a fire at a children’s play area in Barrow as a suspected act of arson.
The incident happened at the playground on Stanley Road in the town at 7.30pm yesterday.
A Barrow Fire Station post on Facebook said: “Unfortunately we are reporting another deliberate fire in the Barrow area tonight.
“Attended and extinguished by crews from Barrow. Sad to see that on this occasion a local children’s play area has been targeted. Please share. Help us #KeepCumbriaSafe.
“If anyone is aware of any issues, please report to Cumbria police on 101 and always dial 999 if the fire is in progress.”
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the fire, or anyone in the area at the time of the incident, quoting log number 186 of May 10.
