Barrow RNLI rescued a stranded yachtsman in Walney Channel this morning.
The volunteer crew launched their inshore lifeboat, Vision of Tamworth, after receiving a call from HM Coastguard at around 11.20am.
A yachtsman had become stranded aboard his vessel which was moored north of Jubilee Bridge after his tender had broken free and drifted away.
Vision of Tamworth, with Jonny Long at the helm, assisted by Saul Tomlin and Chris Rowland, located the yacht off North Scale.
Once alongside, the yachtsman was transferred to the lifeboat and then returned safely to the Ferry Pitchings and into the care of Furness Coastguard who had also attended the incident.
With the task completed successfully, the lifeboat was able to return to the boathouse where it was made ready for the next launch.
