Keswick Mountain Rescue’s new stretcher box on Sty Head Pass has been covered in anti-COVID vaccine stickers.
The aluminium box was installed on the pass, between the mountains of Great Gable and Scafell Pike, in May and replaced a wooden stretcher box that had been in place since the 1960s.
A statement on Facebook from Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “We very much doubt any of our supporters would cover the new stretcher box with anti-vaxxer stickers, but whoever it was, it’s not appreciated.
“Now one of the team members will have to go up and scrape them off.”
