Kendal Town Council has expressed its sadness after learning of the death of a serving councillor.
Michele Miles, who represented the town council’s Kirlkland ward, died yesterday.
She was described as a “tireless servant and advocate, not just of her Kirkbarrow community, but of the whole town”.
Mrs Miles joined the council in 2018.
Doug Rathbone, mayor of Kendal, said: “Michele worked hard with people in her community and believed no one should be left behind. She served on the town council’s planning committee with honesty and insight, and shall be very sadly missed.
“The council’s sympathy and condolences go to Michele’s family.”
