Officers in Carlisle city centre dealt with five separate incidents of retail crime in the same weekend.
Carlisle Business Crime Awareness, which is a crime reduction partnership which works closely with the police and third party agencies, had officers patrolling the town centre at the weekend.
They dealt with the following incidents:
- A female was detained and was given a criminal resolution order after she stole £65 worth of goods from a store. Goods were then returned to the retailer.
- Three juveniles were stopped after a theft from a retailer. The goods were recovered and their school were notified.
- A male was arrested after breaching court conditions banning him from entering any retail premises in the city centre.
- A male was stopped and stolen goods were recovered from a city centre store. The goods were returned to the retailer.
- Three juveniles were stopped and goods recovered after they stole drink and food items. The stolen items were returned back to the retailer and the school were notified.
A spokesman for Carlisle Business Crime Awareness said: “Please keep reporting all your incidents of theft on the shop watch radio and onto disc.”
