A van ended up submerged in Whitehaven harbour after rolling down the slipway at the town’s marina.
HM Coastguard was called out when the van was spotted last night and the volunteer Workington RNLI crew was also called to attend.
When the Coastguard team arrived at the scene, it was confirmed that no one was in the vehicle and Workington RNLI was stood down en route.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team said: “With no life at risk, we remained on scene with Whitehaven Marina staff for public safety, whilst the owner made arrangements and successfully managed to recover the stricken vehicle.“
