Kendal’s mayor has had his lockdown beard shaved off to raise cash for his charities.
Doug Rathbone had his beard shaved off in the centre of town so he could also raise awareness of the charities he is supporting – Christians Against Poverty and the Well Communities, which supports people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction.
Coun Rathbone said: “It feels great to have got rid of the beard and great to have raised money for two fantastic charities but it does feel cold!”
