A charity which helps sick children and their families is asking people to help raise funds by signing up to its 3 Lakes Walk.

It will be its first live event since 2019 and takes place on August 29.

People will take part in a 29-mile walk around Ennerdale, Crummock and Buttermere.

Greg Johnston, chief executive of Team Evie, said: “It is really exciting to get our fundraising events back up and running and the 3 Lakes Walk will be a brilliant day.

“It is crucial for us to get our fundraising going again following the year we have all faced to ensure we can continue to support sick children and their families when they need it most.”

Team Evie was set up by Greg and his wife Jill in memory of their daughter who died in 2015. Evie spent the majority of her six-month life in hospital and the couple were determined to create something positive to make her proud.

The charity now supports 20 medical teams across Cumbria and the North East, funding medical equipment and supporting families.
