After a good win over York City Knights, Gary Charlton’s men were expected to follow-up comfortably against a struggling Swinton outfit.
But after leading 18-6 at half-time Haven found themselves in an arm wrestle when Swinton pulled level at 22-22.
Charlton prides his side on their fitness and that proved a factor in the closing quarter as they pulled away to win 36-22 and maintain their progress in the Championship.
Australian Declan Walmsley, pushing for a place in the Scotland squad for the World Cup was in the thick of the action again, scoring two tries and kicking five goals.
Connor Holliday also crossed twice, and kicked a goal, while half-back pair of Nikau Williams and Karl Dixon scored the other tries.
