Police are investigating a reported attempted theft and assault in Kendal on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at B&Q in Burton Road between 5.50pm and 6.10pm.
A man, 45, was arrested and later released under investigation as inquires continue.
Officers are asking anyone who witnessed an altercation or saw anyone behaving suspiciously in the area at the time to come forward.
