A 26-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries after a suspected stabbing in Wigton in the early hours.
Cumbria police was called at 12.35am to a report that a man had been stabbed in the vicinity of Waver Lane.
Officers attended and three men aged 28, 30 and 18 were arrested on suspicion of assault.
All three remain in police custody this morning.
The 26-year-old man was taken to hospital with abdominal injuries which are serious but not believed to be life-threatening.
