Promoters of the county’s first socially distanced festival which was held last year are gearing up for their next festival which is taking place this September at Whitehaven Rugby League Club.
Haven Fest 2.0 taking place on September 18 will be headlined by ABBA A-Rival; a tribute act to the Swedish sensations ABBA.
The band will be complemented by a stellar line-up of local talent including, Beatles Boy, Newton Smith, Danny Dunnery, Solomon, Grace Price and Springfield.
Festival promoters Shelbi Travers and Lee Adams, of Recreation Events, said: “We love working with local clubs and artists to create our festivals and following on from the success of our socially distanced festival last year we knew we wanted to do another one this year.
“The hunger for great entertainment, a beer and some good fun has never been greater!
“The majority of Haven Fest 2.0’s musicians are performing a range of popular cover songs as well as showcasing their own original music.
“West Cumbria has a fantastic local music scene, which we are very proud to be a part off, and we look forward to putting on a great event for everyone in our community.”
Danny Dunnery said: “As local musicians, the COVID pandemic hit us really hard.
“Music to us is about performing together as a group of friends while entertaining others and this wasn’t possible for a long time.
“We were lucky to perform at Recreation Events’ first socially distanced festival last August and now we’re buzzing to be playing one without the social distancing, where we can have a good dance and party!”
Shelbi and Lee added: “Our events team have been working closely with the local environmental health authorities to provide a safe, secure, and COVID compliant event.
“Our key coronavirus measures are that festival goers must present a negative lateral flow test or proof of full vaccination alongside photographic ID upon arrival.
“Additional sanitation and cleaning points will be throughout our site to keep everyone safe.”
