The Hound Trailing Association is preparing for another of its big Saturday meetings tomorrow with the Premier Trails being staged at Bridekirk.

With the battle for the senior championship an exciting one this year, the three main challengers will all be in action hoping to gain that extra win which could prove invaluable.

At the moment the 2019 puppy champion Acorn leads the way on 10, followed by the 2019 senior champion Crazy on nine, while last season’s puppy champion Cracking Last One has seven.

The trainers had  a chance to put their hounds round the Bridekirk trail on Tuesday and Cracking Last One won it, which could be important for Saturday’s renewal.

The puppy title seems to be going to Duchess Ava, despite there being three months trailing left. She is well clear on 15 from Miterdale Dusk (7) and Thorn Belle (6).

But Duchess Ava is unlikely to run at Bridekirk with Busy Maid winning Tuesday’s look-round trail ahead of Miterdale Dusk.

There are six trails, with the action starting at 11am with the seniors and that will be followed by Maidens – 11.45am; Pups – 1pm; Puppy maidens – 1.30pm; Open restricted – 2pm and Veterans – 2.30pm.
