Workington Town proved too strong for Keighley at the Fibrus Community Stadium and were worthy 36-24 winners.
The victory was timely as it lifted Town above the Cougars in the Championship table with five games left to play.
The kick-off had to be delayed for 15 minutes after a medical situation meant the club doctor and medical staff were involved in the care required.
Town were first to score on 14 minutes when Evan Lawther went over and Jake Carter landed the conversion.
But Keighley responded quickly and Brandon Pickersgill got in for the Cougars with Matty Beharrell adding the extras.
Two tries in as many minutes from Tanna Featherstone and Callum Phillips, the first converted by Carter put Town nicely in front four minutes from the break.
But Keighley managed to reduce the arrears before the break when former Whitehaven player Lachlan Lanskey drover over and Beharrell converted to leave the hosts 16-12 in front when the players left the field.
Early in the second half Keighley got themselves ahead for the first and only time. Oliver Whitford scored the try and the reliable Beharrell made no mistake with the conversion.
But in their best spell of the game Town took control and surged 36-18 ahead with some outstanding tries from Zarrin Galea (51), Jack Ainley (57), Featherstone (67) and Grant Reid (72), with Carter improving two.
Keighley were able to have the final word when former Town centre Max Clarke went in for a try which Beharrell converted.
