Workington Town coach Chris Thorman has praised the attitude of his players as they look for a return to action on Sunday after five weeks off.
Three postponements because of COVID and the Challenge Cup final shutdown have accounted for the last four weekends.
He said: “I have at Town a group of players that have standards and accountability. They know what to do away from the club when we can’t be in each other’s company due to COVID.
“They did it throughout 2020 so they have handled all the disruption of the last few weeks the same as they handled it last year. We will be prepared when we play again.
“The group might be young and inexperienced, but they are professional and they are accountable for themselves.
“It just proves we have the right people at the club and I know that whenever we are asked to play again, they will be ready to go.”
That should be this week-end when they travel to Keighley, a team who are strong at home but until Sunday, couldn’t win away.
But they produced a top class performance to win 42-20 at Rochdale.
