Whitehaven will welcome back their skipper Marc Shackley for Sunday’s home Championship clash with Dewsbury.
Shackley missed last week’s win at Newcastle Thunder with a knee injury but has recovered and will be restored to the line-up.
Fellow prop Ryan King has to sit this one out because he picked up a one match ban for fighting in the home win over Oldham.
Stand-off Karl Dixon also has to miss out as he also picked up a one match suspension for punching in a feisty end to that Oldham game.
But one of the senior backs, Jason Mossop, who was an absentee at Newcastle, will return.
Coach Gary Charlton will be warning his players of a reaction from the Rams after they lost at home to Swinton last week – giving the Lions their first win of the season.
“If we can play like we did in the second-half at Newcastle we can give every team in the League a game.
“But a week earlier against Oldham we were largely poor so it’s all about finding a consistently good level,” said Charlton.
Whitehaven lost their first away game at Dewsbury so a revenge win would help consolidate their rise up the Championship table having reached the top half last week.
