Cumbria are through to the final of the MCCA Trophy after a frustrating day watching the rain fall at Keswick.
The weather forecast had been predicting a bowl-out would be needed with little or no play possible and that’s what happened.
It came down to the dreaded bowl-out with Cambridgeshire after six hours of sitting about and Cumbria came out on top 3-2.
Sam Sharp hit the target with both his efforts, and Michael Slack also struck once with both Paul Hindmarch and Matthew Sempill missing. Cambridgeshire only managed two on target.

It’s the second time that Cumbria have got through to the Trophy final on a bowl-out, successful against Staffordshire in 2019 – 2-0 on that occasion.
Wales were playing Berkshire in the other semi-final and the final is being staged by the Wormsley club on Thursday, September 2.
