Emergency services have rescued a person in distress in the water at Maryport harbour.
Maryport Inshore Rescue, Workington RNLI. the fire service and coastguard rescue teams were called at around midnight after reports that a person was in the water just off the north pier.
Coastguard officers arrived on the scene and sent a swimmer out to the casualty.
Maryport Inshore Rescue transported the casualty and the rescue swimmer to dry land.
The casualty was passed to North West Ambulance Service for examination and taken to hospital for treatment
