Travel disruption on Northern due to conductor shortage

Passengers travelling on Northern services are facing disruption due to a shortage of conductors.

Passengers travelling on Northern services are facing disruption due to a shortage of conductors.

The 3.44pm Barrow to Carlisle service has been cancelled. Rail replacement transport has been arranged.

A coach is scheduled to depart at 5.20pm and will call at St Bees, Corkickle then as required to Carlisle. This will be operated by Workington Heritage Trust.

Passengers from Whitehaven are advised to board the 5.49pm service to Carlisle. The service was due to stop at the following stations:

Millom 16:12
Silecroft 16:16
Bootle 16:23
Ravenglass For Eskdale 16:29
Drigg 16:32
Seascale 16:35
Sellafield 16:41
St Bees 16:52
Corkickle 16:57
Whitehaven 17:01
Parton 17:05
Harrington 17:13
Workington 17:19
Flimby 17:24
Maryport 17:28
Aspatria 17:38
Wigton 17:49
Dalston 17:59
Carlisle 18:10

The 6.07pm service from Barrow to Carlisle will be cancelled. It was due to stop at the following stations:

Barrow-In-Furness 18:07
Askam 18:17
Kirkby-In-Furness 18:21
Foxfield 18:25
Green Road 18:28
Millom 18:34
Ravenglass For Eskdale 18:49
Drigg 18:52
Seascale 18:56
Sellafield 19:00
St Bees 19:12
Corkickle 19:17
Whitehaven 19:21
Parton 19:25
Harrington 19:33
Workington 19:43
Flimby 19:47
Maryport 19:53
Aspatria 20:03
Wigton 20:14
Dalston 20:23
Carlisle 20:34

The 7.09pm Carlisle to Preston service will now start in Workington and will no longer call at Carlisle, Dalston, Wigton, Aspatria, Maryport and Flimby.

Customers are advised to board the next service (8pm Carlisle to Workington), then connect with a replacement bus at Workington at 9.15pm for set down only to Preston.

The service will no longer call at the following stations:

Carlisle 19:09
Dalston 19:17
Wigton 19:27
Aspatria 19:37
Maryport 19:48
Flimby 19:51
