County League action continued midweek with five games while a sixth is being staged tonight between the reserve squads of Whitehaven Amateurs and Windscale.

In the Premier Division, Maryport Athletic travelled to Gosforth and came away with three well-earned points in a 1-0 win.

In a close game as the score line suggests, a Josh Pattinson goal was the difference between the teams.

Mirehouse had a similar result when they made the relatively short trip to play enjoyed the 1-0 win with a goal from Alan Sim.

Pirelli got back into winning ways with a 6-1 home victory over neighbours Carlisle City Development with six different players on the scoresheet.

Liam Delaney, Luke Firth, Dean Batey, Jordan Atkinson, Kieron Blair and Kyle Armstrong all contributed, with Dillon Burns replying for City.

Workington Athletic halted Aspatria’s run of good results inflicting a 6-4 defeat on the home team.

Despite scoring four goals, through Andrew Trestianu, Darryl Creighton and a double from Richard Hudson, they were not enough to deny Athletic the win.

A hat-trick from Kevin Connelly with one each from Tom Pardini, Gareth Brunton and Connor Hammell got Athletic back on track.

Wigton Harriers were on their travels again when they played out a 1-1 stalemate with Northbank. Ellis Dickinson scored for the home side, with Harvey Harrison notching the Harriers goal.
