Another treble for Dearham. Darren McMaster and Silver Dream, Sadie Wilson and Cinderella and Claire Crone and Silver Girl.

There’s another major meeting tomorrow in the hound racing calendar with the Bitch Produce at Shap.

Successful meetings to stage the Dog Produce, the International and the Festival of Hound Racing have already being held.

A well-known course, and a popular one at Shap, should produce perfect terrain for a number of prominent, fast bitches this season.

Cinderella, Thorn Daisy, Acacia, Azuria and Fable will all have their supporters in this one, with the Bitch Produce the stand out race in a six-grade meeting.

The action gets underway at 1pm with the senior race and the Bitch Produce is third on the card at 3.15pm.

HRA chairman Paul Airey talked to Cumbria Crack’s John Walsh about prospects for the meeting which you can hear below:

Meanwhile Wednesday night saw a return to Wardhall for the third time and the Dearham kennel of Joseph Abram and Nicola McMaster showed they continue to have their hounds in good order with another treble.

They are likely to have Cinderella and Silver Girl running in the big race tomorrow.

It was quite a warm night but perhaps not as hot as predicted and the senior hounds got things underway with a slip of five.

The Dearham team was looking to extend their lead in the senior championship with another win for their champion Silver Dream who is bidding for a third successive title.

As they were slipped Silver Dream was favourite and when they went down towards the bottoms she was leading from Zoya for Stephen Irving and Caroline Graham.

Once back in to sight, and climbing up the long finish, they were neck and neck but a hundred yards out Silver Dream managed to pull ahead, going on to take her 19th win of the season, now 11 points clear of her nearest rival Sportsman.

Zoya ran on well to finish in second place with a gap to the third hound Minnie Million for Joy and Brian Lister.

Lisa and Holly Whitfield’s Lucky Breeze finished well in fourth place while Lee Wall and Co’s Denton Phantom finished in fifth place.

The pups were next to slip with six entered and Thorn Daisy for Martin, Molly Burrow, Ian Freyne and Ger and Jennifer Kenney was sent off as favourite.

As they went down into the bottoms it was Cinderella for Sadie, Kez and Graham Wilson who was leading from Stephen Riley and Isla Hetherington’s Fable.

There was a gap to Thorn Daisy who was in third position with some ground to make up.

Once onto the finish it was Cinderella who came away to win with Fable finishing well in second. Thorn Daisy came in third, not having made up much ground but finished well.

Foxparke Wanderer finished fourth for Robyn, Nicola, Ellie and Grace Napier, Neil Brady and Brooke Butler. Thorn Dot for Colin Satterthwaite and Teddy Burrow finished in fifth with Foxparke Whoop Whoop taking the last ticket for the Napiers, Neil Brady and Donald Hodgson.

The Open Maiden race was next with a slip of 18 hounds and It was an open market in the bookies ring.

As the hounds went down into the bottoms it was Foxparke Dealer for the Napier kennel who was leading the race, followed by Lucky Moon for Geoff Higgins, Ian Rudd and Tony Jackson.

They were followed by Silver Girl for Joseph Abram and Claire Crone followed by Swifty for Andrew Bulman and Laura Steele.

Once they showed on to the finish it was Silver Girl who came through to lead and cross the line in first place making it a treble on the night for the Dearham kennel. Lucky Moon was a close second with Swifty having made up ground to take third.

Foxparke Dealer had dropped back slightly and finished in fourth place with their other hound Foxparke Elliot’s Lad in fifth while the final ticket went to Minnie for Les and Graham Reid, Erin Rowlandson, Barbara Jones and Stephen Walker.

The last race of the night was the All In with 11 runners. Geoff Higgins, Ian Rudd and Tony Jackson’s Lucky Lottie finished well to take the win with Carol and Stanley Jackson’s Croft Lass finishing in second.

Miterdale Duchess ran a good race and finished well in third place with Silver Streak for the Dearham kennel finishing in fourth place.

Thorn Soul for Colin Satterthwaite took fifth with the Dearham team’s Sarah Jane taking the last ticket of the night.
