Carlisle’s game in North One West at Firwood Waterloo on Saturday has been postponed.
The hosts have Covid-related issues and have kept Carlisle informed throughout the week on how things were progressing.
A Carlisle spokesman said this morning: “We have now received formal notification that the game has been postponed. The game will be rescheduled for later in the season.”
Firwood Waterloo announced the postponement on their website this morning, saying they were observing strict RFU guidelines over Covid. They have suggested the game will be played on October 9.
Carlisle had been preparing for their first away game after a 45-7 opening day defeat at Warwick Road against Kendal, followed by Saturday’s 41-35 win over Altrincham Kersal.
Firwood Waterloo had lost 31-24 at Glossop on Saturday after starting with a 45-26 home win against Manchester.
It means now that Carlisle will get in another home game, next week against Wilmslow, before they play an away game.
