Workington’s Christmas Festival and lights switch-on will take place next month.
The festival, on Saturday November 20 from 11am to 5pm, will include live music and performances, walkabout entertainers, face painting, Christmas crafts and market, a fun fair, Santa’s grotto, magic, puppets, princesses and storytelling.
The main stage will be located outside The Entertainer and Bensons for Beds this year.
A Christmas market, featuring independent local businesses, will be held in the pedestrianised Washington Square.
It has been organised by Workington Town Council and a spokesman said: “We are delighted to hold our Christmas festival in the town again, after we turned it into a virtual Christmas festival during lockdown in 2020.
“It will be amazing to see the town come together again and celebrate Christmas after what has been a very difficult 18 months for many.”
The main stage line-up will be announced over the coming weeks.
