A luxury Lake District hotel has been awarded four AA Rosettes.
The Forest Side, in Grasmere, was one of three restaurants awarded the prestigious accolade this year by the AA.
The news follows last year’s accolade of the AA Inspectors’ Choice Red Star Award.
Since its launch in 2016, the fairy-tale gothic restaurant and rooms has firmly cemented itself as one of the UK’s finest country hotels and it continues to go from
strength to strength.
Alasdair Elwick, general manager at The Forest Side said, “We are absolutely delighted to receive four AA Rosettes and would like to extend our appreciation for the recognition.
“The past few years have been a rollercoaster and our team have taken each hurdle in their stride and it’s great to see their hard work being recognised.”
The Michelin starred restaurant is overseen by head chef Paul Leonard, and uses produce grown in the expansive kitchen garden or sourced from local suppliers.
The Pentonbridge Inn in Penton, near Carlisle, was awarded three AA Rosettes.
Establishments with three AA Rosettes are all outstanding restaurants achieving standards which demand national recognition well beyond their local area, while those awarded four AA Rosettes are considered among the top restaurants in the country.
