Keswick Ladies ran out comfortable 10-1 winners against Penrith Ladies 2nds after dominating possession throughout the game.
Rachel Armstrong and Olivia Mullen ran the midfield and dissected the visitors defence with accurate passes to set up chances for the forwards, who could have had more goals but for some good saves from the Penrith keeper.
Keswick scored their first after nine minutes as Rhiannon Bowles turned in a cross from Charlotte Parry, despite good pressure,
Nine minutes later Keswick doubled their lead, again through Bowles, after her strong running left a couple of defenders in her wake.
Olivia Mullen drove the ball into the D and found the net after 21 minutes, and Bowles completed her hat-trick on 25 minutes from a penalty stroke.
Mullen scored her second, again after a good run, shooting from just inside the D to round off the scoring in the first half.
The second half was only two minutes old when, from another penetrating run, it was Mullen who completed her hat-trick.
Two minutes later on one of their rare attacks the visitors pulled a goal back through Abi White.
But soon it was business as usual when Mullen added her fourth, followed a minute later by Emma Waite scoring Keswick’s eighth.
Emily Heron-Southward scored next on17 minutes for the home team, while the scoring was rounded off after 23 minutes of the half as Emma Waite scored her second goal.
It’s her birthday this week, and not really wanting to give too much away, but it’s the last goal she will score in her 30s!
