A family of Cumbrian schools created more than 100 powerful artistic displays to honour our war heroes.
The schools that make up Cumbria Education Trust designed the window displays to show their support for Armistice and Remembrance Day and those who sacrificed their own lives for us.
Students and pupils were asked to use their skills to collaborate on ‘Poppies in your Window’, displays that reflect unity and hope and show support for the sacrifices made. Some images have decorated school premises and others were on display at home.

Display organiser Nic Tweddle said: “We are extremely proud of the thoughtfulness and creativity shown by our young people.
“We are also grateful for the support of families and school staff in embracing so enthusiastically this tribute. We hope the displays will be seen by people right across the county at this poignant time.”
Secondary schools taking part were The Whitehaven Academy, William Howard in Brampton, Workington Academy and West Coast Sixth Form.
Primary schools were Caldew Lea, Newtown and Yewdale in Carlisle, Tebay and Yanwath in Eden, Hensingham in Whitehaven, Northside in Workington and Longtown.
