A Brampton bridge will be closed for up to five days for urgent repairs.
Irthing Bridge, on the A6071, has been closed immediately following a collision which damaged the structure.
Connect Roads and Cumbria county Council are carrying out the work.
A council statement said: “Access will be maintained for school bus and transport services and for emergency vehicles throughout the repairs.”
