It was lucky 13 for Carlisle United as they ended a 12-match winless run by beating Walsall 1-0 at Brunton Park.
The Blues’ long-suffering fans were delighted with a long overdue goal which clinched the points in the 88th minute.
A home crowd, which had been largely subdued throughout the contest, responded with noisy backing to help the side through the five minutes added on at the end.
United looked as though they were heading for a club record sixth home game without a goal when Tristan Abrahams knocked in the winner.
Walsall failed to deal with a Callum Guy free-kick and when the opportunity arose Abrahams finished calmly from close range.
It was all-round relief for players, manager and fans as results elsewhere also helped the Blues move out of the relegation zone.
Walsall had gone five away games unbeaten but this was not an impressive display from the Saddlers.
They had started both halves strongly. Otis Khan curled a shot just wide in the opening minute and in the second-half Mark Howard saved well from George Miller and Joss Labadie.
But that was just about it for any serious concerns experienced by United and they did have their own moments to look back on which might have provided an earlier breakthrough.
Joe Riley, who later went off with injury, almost beat keeper Carl Rushworth off guard with a long range lob while Jordan Gibson hit the post when he probably should have scored.
All that mattered in the end was that Carlisle won the game and made progress up the table.
