In the second leg Cons’ Stuart Robertson edged his team closer to the winning line of ten frames but Lifeboat fought back to make it 8-6.
The Cons kept their cool and secured their quarter-final place winning the first doubles frame to progress 10-7.
Seaton Royal Oak’s 1st leg doubles performance away at Skinny Jimmy’s was decisive as winning all three gave them a 6-3 lead.
Indeed the Royal Oak put the second leg away quickly, winning four out of five singles as Jonathan Barber’s winning frame gave them a 10-4 win.
Shaun Ayre’s JJ’s team dominated the first leg single frames as Wayne Hardy kicked off an impressive performance that saw JJ’s lead 7-2.
JJ’s made sure there’d be no comeback as they won early frames to progress, winning 10-3.
The Grapes A put newcomers Chasers to the sword as Dave Glasson’s match-winning frame got the Grapes through 10-1.
In another one-sided affair, Pack Horse B dominated B league leaders Lifeboat B as they won 10-2.
Station Rd C overcame a 5-4 deficit against club rivals Station Rd B.
The B team couldn’t capitalise on their first-leg advantage as Dave Bateman kickstarted Station Rd C whose singles performance helped them run out 10-7 winners.
Despite a positive start for the Miners that saw Paul Kelly help them into a 4-1 lead they weren’t able to continue as JJ’s B stormed back to finish the first leg 7-4.
Miners reduced the deficit to 7-6 in the second leg but yet again JJ’s B kicked it up a gear and Dan Long earned the winning frame as they made the quarters thanks to a 10-6 win.
