Boris Johnson

Almost three-quarters of our readers believe Boris Johnson should resign in the wake of the Christmas party scandal.

The Prime Minister is facing calls for his resignation after reports intensify about Christmas parties held inside Downing Street during coronavirus restrictions last year.

Scottish National Party leader Ian Blackford told fellow MPs at Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday that “authoritative reports” suggest three parties were held at Downing Street last year while the country was subject to lockdown restrictions – with one said to have taken place inside Mr Johnson’s flat.

It was then confirmed that parties on November 27, December 10 and December 18 would be investigated by Cabinet Secretary Simon Case, and that “credible allegations relating to other gatherings” may also be investigated.

Should the Prime Minister resign?

Cumbria Crack launched its poll yesterday and out of 2,500 votes, 1,828 of our readers said “yes” (73.12%), 574 voted “no” (22.96%), 62 said they “didn’t care” (2.48%) and 36 chose the option “not sure” (1.44%).
