Cumbria will complete their shortened county under-18s programme on Sunday against Durham at Kendal.
After a 36-12 defeat at Whitley Bay against Northumberland, the second game with Lancashire at Penrith was called off just before Christmas on the advice of the RFU.
Coach Garry Holmes is expecting a tight game against Durham as they appear to be well-matched after similar experiences against Northumberland.
He said: “We started slowly and conceded two early tries but started to get into it in the second-half when our pack did well and were able to give us a platform.
“It didn’t help that we suffered a couple of injuries in that game but overall it was a decent effort.
“The thing is we have a young squad this year and half of them will be available for the under-17s competition which starts in April. Most of the squad will be available again in November for next season’s under-18s competition.”
Unfortunately, fly-half Dan Woodcock, who suffered concussion in the opening game against Northumberland, has not recovered and misses out. In addition, hooker Aaron Cavaghan picked up an injury at training last night and he will be an absentee.
The Cumbria squad is: Okan Akdeniz (Carlisle RUFC / QEGS Penrith), Barney Coxon (Kendal / QKS Kendal), Jack Moffet (Penrith RUFC / QEGS), James Weeks (Kirkby Lonsdale RUFC / Lancaster Grammar), Ben Howe (Kendal RUFC), Felix Green (Penrith RUFC / QEGS Penrith), Will Baines (Kirkby Lonsdale RUFC / QES), Ollie Rose (Gosforth Academy),Toby Liddle (Austin Friars), Freddie Rawlings (Carlisle RUFC / Trinity),Josh Hope (Austin Friars), Oscar Doran (Capt, Keswick School) , Jack Tunnicliffe (Penrith RUFC / UCC), Rob Coward (Penrith RUFC / UCC), Alex Fillingham (Keswick School), Jack Blocksidge (Kendal RUFC), Zak Parkin (Penrith RUFC), James Lancaster (Kirkby Lonsdale RUFC), Ollie Swain (Penrith RUFC), Aaron Stephens (Kendal RUFC).
